● We do not generate or store unique device identifiers
2. How We Use Your Information
● Prayer requests and connect forms are sent to our church server (hosted on our private Synology NAS) and forwarded to our pastoral team via email.
● Local device data (reading history, bookmarks, highlights, preferences) is used solely to provide app functionality and is never transmitted off your device.
● Bible and song databases are downloaded from our server to your device for offline use.
● Sermon and podcast content is fetched from our server to display within the App.
3. Device Permissions
The App requests the following permissions, all of which are optional:
● Internet access for streaming sermons, podcasts, and download Bible content
● Calendar access for adding church events to your device calendar (only when you tap "Add to Calendar")
● Notifications to deliver Bible reading reminders that you configure
You can deny any permission, and the App will continue to function with that feature disabled.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
● YouTube (Privacy Policy): Used to play sermon videos. YouTube may collect usage data according to Google's policies.
● Google Calendar (Privacy Policy): The App reads a publicly shared church calendar feed. No Google login is required.
● Google Forms (Privacy Policy): Used for the feedback form. Google may collect data per their policies.
● ChurchTeams (Privacy Policy): The "Give" feature opens the ChurchTeams donation portal in a browser view. Payment information is handled entirely by ChurchTeams.
We do not use Firebase, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Sentry, or any other analytics or crash-reporting services.
5. Data Storage and Security
● Local data (reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, preferences) is stored on your device using MMKV and SQLite. This data is protected by your device's operating system security.
● Submitted data (prayer requests, connect forms) is stored on our church-owned Synology NAS server, accessible only to authorized church staff.
● All network communication uses HTTPS encryption in transit.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
● Local device data remains on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App.
● Prayer requests and connect form submissions are retained on our church server indefinitely unless you request deletion.
● To request deletion of your submitted data, contact us at pastor@sia.church.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the prayer or connect forms, please contact us to have it removed.
8. Device Backup
Your local app data (reading progress, bookmarks, highlights) may be included in your device's automatic backups (iCloud on iOS, Google Backup on Android). You can manage this in your device settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
